Ironically, the first solid I ever bought (the Lucky Elephant) was a gift for my mother, who never used it and tucked it away in her drawer. I took it back, and this started MY collection. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

Even though I've never given any more solids as gifts, I may have been responsible for a few sales. Year before last, I sent out Halloween cards using the black Octopus on an orange background. The wife of one of the men I work with wanted to know where she could buy solids. She ended up with the Dragonfly.

I was at a concert one night, and a woman admired the Sunshine necklace I was wearing and had to have one just like it. She came over the next day and bought an extra one I had from an estate sale. Then, the saw the Dachshund and went to our local Belk store and bought it for her daughter.

Last year, we held a a fund-raising event for SAFE and the theme was “All That Jazz.” I donated the All That Jazz compact, and the girl who bought it said she was going to display it.

This year, I'm giving the Aries compact to my sister for Christmas, whose birthday is in April. I hope she likes it. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
