Congratulations on your rabbit, and I think it is wrong that the Seller is now attempting to collect sales tax. I tried (but failed) to copy an article to this post which stated that California has not passed any legislation whereby Sellers on the internet are required to pay tax on their sales. It did go on to say, however, that some sellers collect sales tax anyway, so it is somewhat ambiguous.
