Not sure how the tax thing works in the US but in the eBay listing guide it states that a seller can add a surcharge to the final bid or buy price in THREE instances : ‘reasonable shipping and handling fee’ ‘providing that this fee is disclosed up front in the listing’, ‘costs associated with using a third party escrow service’ and ‘costs associated with the currency exchange provided that the costs are disclosed and agreed to in advance by the buyer.’
Can’t find anything in relation to taxes. Unless someone else has some info I would check with eBay support. My personal thoughts and interpretation of the guidelines are that any ‘hidden’ charges should be disclosed up front in the listing.
