Caroline you have our sympathy. We've gone through the same thing with a pet and our bed before. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

Now, even though the pets aren't allowed on any beds in the house, we have taken the precaution of putting a waterproof sheet on all the mattresses in the house before we make them up. That way the worst that can happen is ruining a bedspread or sheets. Mattresses are way too expensive to be replacing.
