I wasn't keen about the princess until I saw her in person at an EL function at Neimans. Then I thought ,well maybe. Finally after I had somehow gathered most of the ivory series, including the Imperial Panda (now there is an ugly one if you ever saw ugly, rare but ugly), I decided I had to have her. She's okay.
The shiny bright red on the robe of the ebay one does make me wonder if it is just the camera light or has been touched up. If I were going to bid I sure would ask the seller about it first.

You're absolutely right, Phyllis. I've done a “print screen” on the photo, put it into my photo editing program, enlarged the picture and there is absolutely NO GRAIN or definition to the red stripe (or anywhere) on her robe.
How to do a print screen: Go to the photo on eBay, click on enlarge.
Then: Hold down the Control (Ctrl) key and the little “prt scr/sysrq” key at the same time. You've now “captured” the image.
Next: Go to your “Start” button on the bottom tray of your screen.
Next: Click on “Start,” “Programs,” “Accessories,” “Paint.”
Next: Go to “Edit” and “Paste” the “Print Screen” into it. Then enlarge it.
You may be able to distinguish better the red part of her robe. No definition that I can find…anyone else?
I do not think it's fake…but I do believe it's been re-painted a very high gloss. Almost looks like bright red nail polish. But…we don't know that for sure…have to see what the new owner thinks. Hopefully he/she will post here and let us know, but that's a lot of money if it is a re-paint.
