A word to my friend Petals who often emails me privately.
I think I will look through my emails so I can post the conversation.
It must have been 3 months ago or more that you first saw the refills on Ebay. You never said a word on this site and as a matter of fact you emailed me privately to tell me not to mention them on the site. Why was that? And why now is it so important? I think as you have said it is because you think these refills are going to make YOUR collection less valuable. I must tell you that if the compacts are losing value it is not because of my sister. It is because of the warehouse empties. it seems after re-reading ALL the post on this site that this has been an issue for years. You (the collectors) have not been able to stop it with all your letters and calls to Estee Lauder. Even though the compacts my sister is selling are not filled with the homemade perfume; since everyone believes they are here is a little bit of news. Since buying empty warehouse solids is bringing down your collections then you shouldn't be buying the empties either or the ones without box as a matter of fact. So what are you worried about if your not buying them.
It seems to me that everyone that is upset over thinking that empty compacts are being filled and then sold must be buying them. In which case they are making your collection value go down. by just the fact of buying these (unboxed) warehouse compacts in the first place. I surely hope you take just as much anger out on them as you have on me and my sister.

Yes, I have written to you in the past (have not had a chance to catch up on all the posts as I have been away from the site and I need to re-read)…..
But, I think you have not re=read whatever you keep on file!!!!!!!!
We do write now and then as you are involved with the stories we write and I ALSO HAVE THE EMAILS WHICH YOU HAVE SENT TO ME EXPLAINING MORE ABOUT THE WAREHOUSE SALES. YOU ALSO HELPED WITH THE FACTUAL INFORMATION BY INCLUDING THEM IN THE STORIES!
You state I knew about the Refills being sold on Ebay and contacted you.
WRONG!
I was not aware of the refills. THERE HAS BEEN TOO MUCH GOING ON IN MY LIFE AND DUE TO THIS I HAVE NOT BEEN BOTHERING MUCH WITH EBAY. Not that I bother checking out individual auctions unless I am interested in purchasing something which has been listed.
YOU WROTE TO ME telling me you had the refills and were selling them and asked me whether you should post that on the solid perfume site. I wrote back and said I did not think that was a good idea. At that point I had not even checked out your auctions nor did I know what was involved with what you were selling! Had I known then what was involved, my answer to you when you asked the question as to whether you should let the collectors know, would have been more involved.
a) I have allergies too and know darn well that you cannot tamper/doctor perfumes and then sell them
to the general public.
😎 A friend of mine who lives in the States has spent a fortune trying to produce and market shampoos etc. She used to send me details of the problems she was experienceing and the money it was costing her to do this. Also the standards required and the laws involved. I may well write to her as she also collects the odd solid.

I still have to re-read all the posts AS I have been out of London for the last 24 plus hours, BUT at least I do know also what I wrote in reply to your question re the refills, and also the fact that I had NOT read how these refills were being made etc.
