I think it’s not fair to end an auction earlier. Maybe a not all buyers who might be interested in an item watch eBay every day and then have no possibility to bid on that item. also upon my opinion the highest price can only be reached when an auction ends at it’s proper time as some overbidden buyers might want to bid again just before the auction ends.
