I'm suspicious as always. I think it's EL's ploy to save $$ on the crystals and charge a whole lot more for the international market. They can get away with it.
I find the problem similar with international items sold in America. Czech crystal is a perfect example. We get the plain crystal (usually clear) imported and prices are higher. Prague has more color selection with more cuts at reasonable prices. You'll have trouble finding a teal bowl with the nice cuts here in America.
Maybe, the rule for any country is to: keep the best items domestic and import the lesser (or lower quality) items.
