Clicking on the “Avg.” to the left of the average price will bring up that same table as before. I’ve thought about adding some more qualifiers to the DB so we can tell more details about each auction and why it sold for the price it did. there are so many factors I think it would be prohibitive though. (ie: amount of feedback, recent negative feedback, box or no box, did the auction have a photo, was it a good photo…etc.)
As for the values themselves, I don’t look at them as a tool for making money, (though some may use it that way) I see it more as a tool for knowing what to pay when you find a solid you like. It gives people a yardstick to gauge their bids by.
Also, as the DB grows to include values for all of the solids, it may give people a better idea of the value of their collection should they decide they want to insure it.
